Wow it's gone way too fast. It always does. You think 25 days is enough and then it's over.
We make lots of treks north to Ubud but this is our first trek south and it's a good one, the Elephant Caves, Goa Gajah.
Happy Birthday to me! A few days after Nyepi and it's my birthday. I've had two on the road which is pretty awesome to think about. Two years homeless! Oh, and here's some more shots of our place in Ubud.
As soon as we got to Bali we were told about Nyepi, the holiday of silence. No stores are open. No one leaves the house. Silence. Today's the day.
Daughter and I decided to go for a walk just us, and we walked out the gate and bumped into the Villa manager, Guli. What luck, he took us on an amazing walk!
The Bali Zoo is very well done, with lots of things to see, two large campuses connected via a short bus ride, and we had lots of fun seeing the animals. We even crashed the bird show.
Across the street from Hubud is the Sacred Monkey Forest and we are here on the weekend having a wander. It's sort of reasonably priced and I'm excited though not 100% sure what to expect.
