Wow it’s gone way too fast. It always does. You think 25 days is enough and then it’s over.
Bali, Goa Gajah – the Elephant Caves
We make lots of treks north to Ubud but this is our first trek south and it’s a good one, the Elephant Caves, Goa Gajah.
Bali, Dad’s birthday and more shots around Villa Bhuana Alit
Happy Birthday to me! A few days after Nyepi and it’s my birthday. I’ve had two on the road which is pretty awesome to think about. Two years homeless! Oh, and here’s some more shots of our place in Ubud.
Bali, Nyepi – the Day of Silence
As soon as we got to Bali we were told about Nyepi, the holiday of silence. No stores are open. No one leaves the house. Silence. Today’s the day.
Bali, A walk with Guli
Daughter and I decided to go for a walk just us, and we walked out the gate and bumped into the Villa manager, Guli. What…
Bali, Bali Zoo
The Bali Zoo is very well done, with lots of things to see, two large campuses connected via a short bus ride, and we had lots of fun seeing the animals. We even crashed the bird show.
Bali, the Sacred Monkey Forest
Across the street from Hubud is the Sacred Monkey Forest and we are here on the weekend having a wander. It’s sort of reasonably priced and I’m excited though not 100% sure what to expect.
Bali, getting settled at Villa Bhuana Alit
Bye Malta! We got an early cab (they always arrive 15 minutes before the specified time, probably for good reason) and had a pretty uneventful trip to Bali via Bangkok.
Sliema, our neighborhood in Malta
So much of our travels happens near wherever we’re staying. We did have a car the first weekend in Malta and we made the most of it, but walking is our normal mode.
Gozo, Malta
We took a weekend day-trip to Gozo. After the freezing cold ferry ride (but at least it wasn’t nauseating, and it was sunny!) we enjoyed Malta’s other island.
